Octopus Communities is a network of 15 multi-purpose community centres in Islington. The charity aims to engage, inspire, motivate, equip and support the local community. Octopus delivers multiple large scale projects focusing on urban growing.
Global Generation is an educational charity, which works together with local children and young people, businesses, residents and families in Camden, Islington and Southwark to create healthy, integrated and environmentally responsible communities.
Islington Council has a strong commitment to addressing climate change and are bringing cross-departmental resource and expertise to Action for Local Food. They are supporting land access and waste work, and are providing access to staff and resources.
The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) has established the North London Community Fund to support waste prevention initiatives in the north London area. This fund provides community-based (non-profit making) organisations with funding to develop new approaches to reduce waste and/or extend the reach and impact of existing waste prevention activity in north London.
