Resources: Food Waste & Soil Improvements

Examples of community urban growing taking place in Islington, with practical tips, data and inspiration for others interested in taking action on food waste, and making food production more local.

Thanks to funding secured from the North London Waste Authority’s Community Fund, our Urban Soil Food project is underway - creating three demonstrator Community Composting Hubs. Through the project we want to train up ‘Urban Soil Farmers’ who have a passion for transforming green waste and food waste in to nutritious food for soil.

Join the #choosecomposting movement! Pledge to compost at home, at your local composting hub, or to talk to those around you about composting! Watch the video below for top composting tips, and learn about Islington composting Hubs.
